Mayor's cleanup day in the Junction, April 25th this Saturday

Saturday, April 25th, 10 am- 2 pm

Members of the Junction Residents Association have registered to participate in the Mayor David Miller’s Community Clean-up Day . Everyone will be meeting at the Green P Parking lot on Pacific Ave. just south of Dundas Street West.

How should I prepare for this event?

Don’t forget to wear appropriate clothing for the day such as gloves, boots and perhaps a hat. Items such as bug repellant, bottled water, sunscreen (Forecast calls for +25C!) and a pail for sharp objects can be useful.

What do I do with recyclables collected with the litter?

If possible, the City encourages you to put any recyclables collected in their institutional or residential recycling containers/carts/bins.

Jammie Jam: a family pajama party in support of The Children's Breakfast Club

I don't normally post about events outside of the Junction area because my focus is to promote our neighbourhood, but this event deserves to be mentioned because it benefits The Children's Breakfast Club and sounds like a really amazing thing to experience :)

On April 9, 6 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Jammie Jam: a family pajama party in support of The Children's Breakfast Club. The Fox Theatre will host a room full of pajama-clad children being entertained by stiltwalkers and jugglers, culminating in a showing of Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory. All the proceeds go to TCBC, which provides more than 4,000 nutritious meals every week to children across the GTA. A group of students at Centennial College, decided to launch the event after we saw how the current economic downturn was hurting Toronto's local non-profit groups. It's a great event and cause.
